The IEEE Education Society focuses on the theory and practice of education and educational technology involved in the effective delivery of domain knowledge of all fields within the scope of interest of IEEE. The society sponsors/co-sponsors various conferences throughout the year, including the Frontiers in Education Conference.

Membership includes IEEE Transactions on Education (electronic and print) and IEEE Revista Iberoamericana de Tecnologías del Aprendizaje (electronic).

Membership

Publications:

EdSoc sponsors a number of IEEE publications including IEEE Transactions on Education, IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, IEEE Multidisciplinary Engineering Education Magazine, IEEE-RITA (Revista Iberoamericana de Tecnologíasdel Aprendizaje) and The Interface (a joint publication with the ASEE ECE Division). Education Society Membership includes the IEEE Transactions on Education (electronic and print) and IEEE Revista Iberoamericana de Tecnologías del Aprendizaje (electronic). Members have the opportunity to purchase subscriptions on the IEEE website.

Conferences:

EdSoc sponsors events worldwide each year. The conferences sponsored are FIE (Regions 1-7), EDUCON (Region 8), EDUNINE (Region 9), TALE (Region 10), and LWMOOCs (rotating worldwide).

Chapters:

EdSoc has 65+ chapters worldwide. These chapters organize many local events and offer EdSoc members the opportunity to network with professionals in their local area. Learn more about our chapters here.

Education Activities:

At the heart of EdSoc is the passion for education. EdSoc sponsors many educational activities including, but not limited to, a robust Distinguished Lecturer program, MERLOT peer-reviewed higher education learning materials, a Technical Committee on Learning Sciences, webinars, and much more. Young Professionals Program (YP):

If you are an IEEE Member who has received your first professional degree within the last fifteen years, you are automatically part of IEEE YP.  You can learn more about YP on the IEEE website here.

Membership Fees

Education Society membership covers one calendar year, beginning on 1 January and ending on 31 December. Professionals can join at any time during the calendar year and fees are prorated based on the month in which membership begins through the end of the calendar year. The cost of membership includes Society dues plus the specified amount based on the region in which you reside. IEEE Membership rates can be found on the IEEE website here. IEEE EdSoc membership dues are listed below.

Non-IEEE Member $95.50

 

Minimum Income or Unemployed Provision

Applicants who certify that their prior year’s income did not exceed US$13,800 or equivalent are granted a 50% reduction in IEEE dues, regional assessment, and dues for one IEEE Society and its optional publications. Please submit written certification with application and payment. Student members are not eligible.
