Giacinto Barresi (PhD in robotics, MSc in psychology and neuroscience) is a Professor at the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, UWE Bristol (United Kingdom). His research is dedicated to human-robot interaction for health and safety, in synergy with digital systems. He especially focuses on learning processes, including the ones underlying education and training of professionals like engineers and surgeons. He is a member of the Executive Committee of UK-RAS network, the co-chair of the Technical Committee on Human Factors in Robotics at the IEA, the application chair for Telehealth and Telemedicine in the IEEE-Telepresence initiative, the Industry Liaison for the Technical Committee on Human-Machine Interaction and User Experience of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society, and a member of the Technical Committee on Learning Sciences of the IEEE Education Society.
