Biography

Dr. Huihui Wang is a Program Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF). She rotates with the NSF from St. Bonaventure University (SBU). Before SBU, she was the Founding Department Chair of Engineering at Jacksonville University (JU). She received her Ph.D. from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Virginia. Her current research interests focus on 1) engineering and computing education research, 2) Cyber-Physical Systems/Internet of Things. She has published over 100 peer reviewed journal and conference papers and published four patents. Dr. Wang is a member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). She is the Immediate Past Chair of the ASEE Electrical and Computer Engineering Division after serving at various officer positions of the division and Immediate Past Chair of IEEE Educational Activities Board Faculty Resources Committee. She was the Founding Faculty Advisor of ACM-W, SBU chapter and faculty advisor of the National Society of Professional Engineers JU chapter. She also served as the Treasurer of the Engineering Education Practice Section of Florida Engineering Society (FES) and the Executive Education Committee Member of FES Northeast Florida Chapter. Dr. Wang is a program evaluator (PEV) under both Engineering Accreditation Commission and Computing Accreditation Commission of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

Biography

Dr. Laura Bottomley is the Director of Engineering Education and Senior Advisor for Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University. She is also a Teaching Associate Professor in the Colleges of Engineering and Education. She has taught every grade K through graduate school and has reached close to 200,000 students. She has received awards from the White House twice with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics, Science and Engineering Mentoring program. Bottomley is the founding Director of the Engineering Education program at NC State University. She has served in various roles in her professional societies, IEEE and ASEE, for more than thirty years. Bottomley is a Fellow of the American Society of Engineering Educators and a Fellow of IEEE. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech in 1984 and 1985, respectively, and her Ph.D. in electrical engineering from NC State in 1992. She previously worked at Texas Instruments on the GPS system, at AT&T Bell Labs on ISDN standards and at Duke University teaching classes and directing a lab in the electrical engineering department. She has consulted with NASA, Lockheed Martin, Ericsson, IBM, and others.

Bottomley served as Associate Editor, IEEE Transactions on Education and Editor, Special issue on diversity from 2014-2019. She created a webinar for the IEEE Educational Activities Board (“A Train the Trainer Module for Pre-University Engineering Outreach Programs). She served as the lead author for the tutorial “The Role of Standards in Electrical Power Systems,” through the IEEE Educational Activities Board and IEEE Standards Association.

She represented IEEE on a National Academy of Engineering Committee: Engineering Equity Extension Service, recruitment of women into engineering, from 2007-2008. She also served as a keynote speaker for the IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference, September 2019. She was named an IEEE Fellow, in 2015, for leadership in increasing student interest in STEM education, and she received the IEEE EAB Meritorious Achievement Award in Informal Education in 2009. Bottomley has worked in the field of engineering education for more than 30 years. She is among the pioneers in the field of K-12 engineering outreach, and among the first to apply engineering research approaches to engineering education in the K-20 continuum. She started the Engineering Outreach program at both Duke and NC State Universities, for which work she was recognized by a Presidential Award for Excellence (PAESMEM).

Bottomley also started the Women in Engineering program, and helped bring the percentage of women engineering students from 14% to 33% in 2022. She founded the Engineering Education academic program at NC State, which will offer MS and PhD degrees, as well as a certificate in engineering education with a focus on integrative education for all students, and a particular focus on issues associated with research to practice. Dr. Bottomley has received numerous awards for her work, including being selected as a Robert Foster Cherry Award for Great Teaching, Baylor University, 2022 Semi-finalist.

Position Statement:
If elected to the position, what are the candidates plans and how will they help support the IEEE Education Society? I would value the opportunity to serve in this capacity to work together with others to keep the IEEE Education Society moving forward! We have been leaders in the world of professional societies with regards to the scholarship of education. I want to see us stay that way, AND continue to push the frontiers of scholarship around both theory and practice. I also would like to work toward obviating the need to put special attention on issues of inclusion, because we have developed a habit of inclusion in everything that we do. I would also like to continue efforts to link the IEEE Education society with education groups in other professional societies in new and creative ways, not to replace current efforts, but to continue them and expand them!

Biography

Ana Luna is the Associate Dean of Business Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering from the Universidad del Pacífico, Lima, Peru. She is a full time Professor and Researcher, she studied Physics, and holds a PhD from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She also colaborates as an Associate Researcher in INFISA group, Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Lima, Peru.

Ana was a professor in distinct courses such as Mechanics, Fluids, Electricity, and Magnetism. As a Physics Coordinator, she was in charge of restructuring a multifunctional Physics Lab. For this work, she received the Innovative Project Award, which consisted of participating in a study program granted by SV Links in Silicon Valley, California, USA.

Her first research activity was carried out in the Solid Lasers Division at DEILAP. She developed, built, and studied the dynamics of a prototype of a self-pulsing solid laser pumped by diodes, suitable to be used as a source in a micro-device LIDAR. Then, within the area of Photonics, in the Applied Electromagnetism Group (UBA), she was devoted to the study of the generation of structural color in beetle species endemic. She has been the president of the UBA chapter of the International SPIE, vice president of the UBA chapter of the OSA, and a member of the Argentine Physical Association.

The latest passion that has attracted Ana's energy is how to improve the quality and throughput of undergraduate engineering education, that was why she decided to be an IEEE Education Society member in 2016. In 2017, she received the 3rd Prize in the V Internal contest of Educational Innovation at UP for her work titled How to motivate interest in the Physics course in Business and Information Engineering students without dying in the attempt? Since 2017, Ana has been actively participating in the IEEE EDUNINE Engineering Education Congress; presenting research papers and workshops. She has been also collaborating as a chair and reviewer since 2018. She also participated in the IEEE TALE 2018, Engineering Next-Generation Learning, Conference of the IEEE Education Society (Wollongong, Australia). In 2019, she was the President and local organizer of the III EDUNINE edition in Lima, Peru, at UP. In this event, she received a recognition award for the outstanding contributions and a Best Paper Award, for the work Operational Research and Machine Learning: An Engineering Course. She also received a meritorious award in recognition of her service and dedication to the EDUNINE Congress, for which she was designated a permanent member of the EDUNINE Steering Committee. From 2020 to present, Ana is an Associate Editor of the IEEE RITA Journal. Besides, she is actually, the mentor of the IEEE UP Women in Engineering Student Branch since 2020. In this year, she was promoted to a IEEE Senior member. In the last two editions of EDUNINE Conferences, Ana received an outstanding IEEE recognition award, for her dedication supporting to the Engineering Education. And, in the last EDUNINE VI 2022, she contributed to the formation of a panel integrated by women engineers who shared their work experiences and challenges.

Position Statement:
The candidate plans are to contribute to the IEEE Education Society, participate in events, dedicate time to the topics to be discussed, and identify the needs of the Education Society. The candidate will also help support the creation of IEEE Education Society networks, discussion spaces, and contributing aspects of improvement for the benefit of engineering education and all its members. Ana is an ideal candidate for the position because she has been a member of the IEEE for more than 6 years and actively participates in the Region 9 Engineering Education Congress, which strengthened her abilities to work as a team with people from all over the world, different origins, nationalities, and cultures. Additionally, she is committed to the participation of women in education and their promotion in science. She is the advisor of the WIE student branch at Universidaddel Pacífico, a volunteer work that gave her the possibility of managing, executing strategies, and plan activities for female insertion in STEM careers, reinforcing her soft skills such as effective communication and responsibility. Being part of the BoG will allow her to further strengthen her commitment to the IEEE Education Society, make constructive and practical contributions based on her training and experience; and contribute from another cultural vision to this position.

Biography

I am an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at George Mason University. I received a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BA in Economics from Rice University and an MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My disciplinary research lies in statistical signal processing, specifically detection and estimation for applications in sonar, target tracking, and physical layer communications. I also study machine intelligence as it applies to automating active sonar and developing collaborative intelligent radio networks. My STEM education research focuses on faculty teaching development, specifically using discipline-based communities of practice to promote sustained adoption of research-supported teaching practices. I lead an NSF-funded Institutional and Community Transformation effort to build a culture of inquiry-based learning in STEM using course-based communities of practice and a grassroots change model.

I have been active in IEEE through a variety of roles, including as a Member-at-Large of the IEEE Education Society Board of Governors from 2020-2022. I served as Chair of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the IEEE Signal Processing Society from 2010-2011 and as the Vice Chair in 2009. In addition, I served as the Finance Chair of the 2016 IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP). In 2016, I was a featured speaker in the IEEE Signal Processing Society Careers in Signal Processing video series. Finally, I was the faculty advisor to the IEEE Student Chapter at George Mason University from 2006-2020. Outside IEEE, I served as a faculty representative to the George Mason University Board of Visitors and as a member of the Academic Programs Committee from 2014-2018. I am a 2010 recipient of the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, the 2014 recipient of the Mac Van Valkenburg Early Career Teaching Award, and the inaugural (2017) recipient of the George Mason University John Toups Medal for Excellence in Teaching.

Much of my engineering education research centers on studying models for broadening the adoption of evidence-based teaching practices in engineering, as well as in other STEM disciplines. I have engaged with the engineering education community through a variety of activities. I participated in the NAE Frontiers of Engineering Education Symposium in 2012 and was a co-leader of the ASEE Virtual Community of Practice (VCP) for electrical engineering instructors in 2013-14. I completed the PKAL STEM Leadership Institute in 2015. In 2017, I participated in the NSF-funded “Building Research Capacity for STEM Faculty Development” workshop. I have served as a Program Director in NSF’s Division of Undergraduate Education. I am also Chair of the ASEE Faculty Development Division, where I focus on structures to support instructors as they move toward research-supported teaching methods.

Position Statement:
The efforts of my academic career are focused on both the research and implementation aspects of engineering education. I aim to understand how electrical engineering students at all levels can be prepared for dynamic and fulfilling careers. I’d like to continue to serve as a Member-at-Large of the IEEE Education Society Board of Governors because the Society is in a position to impact how electrical engineering education evolves to meet ever-changing workforce needs and student populations. I am passionate about elevating the importance of engineering education research and of documenting and sharing best practices. As a member of the Board of Governors, I would work to expand and disseminate Society resources such as the Teaching Excellence Hub and to help the Society develop new mechanisms to engage educators and employers in improving electrical engineering education for learners at all stages. I aim to help create mechanisms for sharing knowledge across institutions, particularly as that knowledge relates to broadening the diversity of electrical engineering graduates and serving students who arrive in engineering programs via non-traditional pathways. In addition, I aim to help build connections between education researchers, educators, and practitioners such that advances in electrical engineering education can be both transformative and practically applicable.

Biography

I have been active in Engineering Education and in the IEEE since serving as Central Indiana Chair and a member of the IEEE-USA STEM Literacy Committee in 1999-2000. I am currently the Associate Dean and Director of Engineering at the R. B. Annis School of Engineering at the University of Indianapolis and an Affiliate in Engineering Education at Virginia Tech. I try to take any opportunity to serve and to promote engineering education. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Technology Student Association (TSA) for over ten years, written, presented, and reviewed papers for Frontiers in Education and other conferences, and active in engineering in K-12 through the e4usa project (intending to introduce engineering to all students), helped develop and promote the IEEE Teacher in Service Program, and have written numerous texts.
I was awarded an IEEE-USA Professional Achievement Award (2013) for designing the B.S. degree in Engineering Education, Outstanding Precollege Education Activities in IEEE Sections, and the IEEE Third Millennium Medal. I have also been awarded multiple best paper awards including the Wickenden award (Best Paper, Journal of Engineering Education, 2014) and Best Paper award, Educational Research and Methods Division (ASEE, 2014). I am an active member in IEEE and ASEE, and a member of Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu.
My passion for engineering education helped drive me to become the seventh person with a Ph.D. in Engineering Education (Purdue University, 2009). I have a strong record of success in organizations in which I volunteer, and a passion for Engineering Education, and will work effectively with others on the Committee to build upon the success of the IEEE Education Committee. In addition to my Ph.D. in Engineering Education with an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, and extensive experience in programs at the intersection of engineering and education. I have also been an advocate for IEEE Education Society programs; for example, leading a team of engineering education students to a tour of public and private schools in the Dominican Republic introducing the IEEE TISP activities, and in the early stages on a project expanding pre-university engineering education to Ghana, with a vision to expand globally. I developed and implemented the first Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering Education at Ohio Northern University, focusing on the design of a program to make a systemic difference in engineering in the K-12 / pre-university system.
I believe my qualifications make me an excellent candidate for a position on the Board, and I would be honored to serve.

Position Statement:
I believe every working engineer has a responsibility to give back to our profession. I have a passion for and a strong interest in systematically introducing engineering into the pre-university, K-12 level, and building successful programs to see students succeed in engineering at the university level. If selected, I will work to help the Education Society 1) expand and promote EdSoc Conferences, 2) strive for systemic and lasting differences in pre-university, K-12 and undergraduate education in engineering throughout all IEEE Regions, and 3) work within the Society to ensure it remains strong, effective, and fiscally sound.
As we continue to emerge from a pandemic and become a more interconnected, community through all IEEE Regions, and as we identify issues on local and global scales that require an engineering solution, I firmly believe the IEEE Education Society is an organization which can make a difference. I’ve attended Frontiers in Education for decades, and believe it’s one of the best means for dissemination within the Engineering Education community. Other conferences sponsored by the Society are outstanding. Beyond conferences, I believe the infrastructure exists within the Education Society to affect positive change. The Society has a suite of publications and resources in place, and a strong record of achievement. I believe in the mission and share a passion for engineering education, and would be honored to serve in this role.

Babak D. Beheshti, Ph.D., is a professor and dean of the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences at New York Institute of Technology.

Beheshti’s experience in higher education spans more than 35 years, where he has served as a full-time faculty member, president of New York Tech’s Academic Senate, associate dean, and dean. As dean, Beheshti has led the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences to the introduction of its first two Ph.D. programs, in computer science and engineering, two new bachelor's degree programs, and one new master's degree program. In addition, he has led the college through its fastest climb in national rankings: #33 Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs (National – no doctorate) — a climb of 13 places since 2020, and #49 in Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs (National – no doctorate) in the U.S. News & World Report 2022-2023 Best Colleges rankings.

In line with the career-oriented mission of New York Tech, Beheshti has led the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences in building a strong partnership with industry and government organizations, including NASA, Zscaler, IBM Red Hat, Xilinx, Soter Technologies, and Zebra Technologies. In 2022, he also led the College in launching its first, cooperative education (co-op) track for students in two undergraduate programs: computer science and information technology. The experiential education program allows students to alternate a period of academic study in the classroom with full-time co-op employment in positions directly related to their academic and/or career interests.

Beheshti is currently a member of the board of the Education Society of the IEEE, a member of the Board of Directors of Long Island Software and Technology Network (LISTnet), and a member of the Executive Committee of the Global Engineering Deans’ Council (GEDC). Since 2021, he has served as a member of the Educational Activities board and the chair of the Continuing Education Committee [KTC1] . He also serves on the board of IgniteLI—Long Island Manufacturing Consortium and is a member of the advisory board of The International Association of Transportation Regulators. Beheshti has served as a member of the IEEE Board of Directors (2018-19).

He is a recipient of the IEEE's MGA Leadership Award, IEEE Millennium Medal, the IEEE LI Section Athanasios Papoulis Outstanding Educator Award, and three IEEE Region 1 Awards, including the 2008 IEEE Northeastern Region Technical Innovation Award.

Beheshti received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and his master's and bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering at Stony Brook University.

Manuel Castro (M’87–SM’94–F’08) received the Industrial Engineering degree and the Ph.D. degree in engineering from ETSII/Madrid Polytechnic University, Spain.

He was the National University of Distance Education’s (UNED’s) New Technologies Vice-Rector, the UNED’s Information Services Center Director, the Research and Doctorate Vice-Director, the Vice-Director of Academic Affairs with the School of Engineering, UNED, and the Director of the Department. He worked for five years in Digital Equipment Corporation, as a Senior System Engineer. He is currently Full Professor of electronics technology.

Prof. Castro belongs to the organizing committee of the IEEE EDUCON (past-Chair), the IEEE TALE (chair), the IEEE LWMOOCs (past-Chair) and TAEE conferences. Biography

Martín Llamas-Nistal (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in telecommunication from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain, in 1986 and 1994, respectively. He has been a Faculty Member with the Higher Technical School of Telecommunication Engineers, University of Vigo, Spain, since March 1987.

He is the author or a co-author of more than 300 articles in peer-reviewed international refereed journals and conference proceedings. He has directed several national and international research projects in telematics and technology-enhanced learning fields. He was a member of the Steering Committee of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies, since its founding from 2008 to 2013, where he has been an Associate Editor, since 2014 to 2019.

He has received several awards from the W3C, Highlight Paper in the WWW 2001, and Education Track Best Paper and Conference Best Paper Finalist in the WWW 2002, the 2007 Chapter Achievement Award for the Spanish Chapter as an outstanding model of technical activities, membership services, and professional development in Spain and Latin America, the 2010 Distinguished Chapter Leadership Award, the 2011 IEEE Education Society Chapter Achievement Award, and the IEEE EDUCON 2015 and 2018 Meritorious Service Awards from the IEEE. He was the General Co-Chair of IEEE EDUCON 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2018. Biography

Dr. Pears is Professor, and head of the Department of Learning in Engineering Sciences at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden. He leads research in Engineering Education and Computing in Schools and is a director of the CeTUSS Swedish National Center for Student and Societally Relevant Engineering Education. He has previously served as Chair of the Strategic Advisory Board of the Uppsala University Center for STEM Higher Education Research, and member of the Uppsala University Academic Senate and pedagogical advisory board to the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Arnold received his BSc(Hons) and PhD from La Trobe University, AUSTRALIA. Arnold is an IEEE Senior Member, Computer Society Golden Core Member(2012), receiving the Schmitz Award (2012) for services to the FIE conference. 2023-2024 President-Elect Position Statement:
If elected I will use my extensive experience as STEM researcher and departmental leader to make significant contributions to policies, initiatives and curricula and pedagogical standards through the IEEE Education Society. Thought leadership is central to our goal to improve our professional support for students and professionals both through education and after graduation. I offer my services to the community in the pursuit of these goals.

The IEEE Education Society is dedicated to enhancing education in all areas of engineering and increasing the accessibility and relevance of engineering for future generations of young people. Ours is a society of volunteers, with volunteers, for volunteers. Understanding how to increase the relevance of membership is a key current challenge. I will implement a process of innovation to understand and improve the types of support our community gives to education and or profession. Supporting our members in their professional lives is vital to our continued success. I will work toward enhancing the relevance and appeal of the Education Society around the globe.

Biography

Tony Maciejewski received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1982, 1984, and 1987, respectively, all from Ohio State University. In 1985-86 he was an American Electronics Association Japan Research Fellow at the Hitachi Central Research Laboratory in Tokyo, Japan. From 1988 to 2001 he was a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Purdue University. He is currently a Professor and Department Head of ECE at Colorado State University (CSU) and serves on the ECE Department Head’s Association (ECEDHA) board of directors and is a past president.

Maciejewski's research and teaching interests center on engineering education and on the design and control of kinematically redundant robots, especially for fault-tolerant systems. He has co-authored over 300 publications in journals, books and conferences. His commitment to education resulted in his receiving five teaching awards, including CSU’s “Instructional Innovation Award” and multiple NSF education grants, including the first Revolutionizing Engineering Departments (RED) grant awarded to an ECE Department. The RED project at CSU received the National Society of Professional Engineers – Colorado chapter “Public Project of the Year” award in 2019 and the ECEDHA “Innovative Program” award in 2020.

2023-2024 Treasurer Position Statement:

The IEEE Education Society is the premier organization that focuses on the unique educational needs of the electrical and computer engineering community. I am committed to continually improving the quality of its activities and increasing its impact on the community, and society in general. Some areas that I believe the society should focus on include providing outreach for more student involvement, increasing our collaborations with other related societies, and providing leadership to position the Education Society as a solution to the educational challenges that are of global importance. I believe that IEEE as a whole is currently in a precarious position and must deal with decreasing membership that is due to a relative decline in students pursuing electrical and computer engineering, which is related to an inaccurate perception of our profession by the general public. The Education Society can play a pivotal role in addressing this issue. I have had broad experience with conferences, publications, and student activities, and most importantly, have served multiple terms on the TAB Finance Committee as well as VP for Financial Activities for the R&A Society. I believe that I have illustrated that I have the necessary skills to serve as Treasurer for the Education Society over the last two years, and would like to continue to do so.

Biography

Dr. Diana Andone (@diando70) is the Director of the Digital Education and Distance Education Department of Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania, responsible for planning and implementing digital education and associate professor in multimedia, interactive and web technologies.

Since 1998, she teaches course modules in universities from UK, France, USA, Finland, Italy, Greece. She has extensive research experience with intense publication (over 17 books, 100 research papers, 11 Best paper Awards, reviewer at 6 major journals and several other publications, associate editor at IEEE Transactions on Education, co-chair IEEE ICALT iOpenLearn) and more than 30 research and educational international projects. Dr. Andone is EDEN Senior Fellow, IEEE Education Society 2021 Distinguished Chapter Leadership Award winner, EDEN Vice-President for Communication and Communities (2018-2021), and member in IEEE Education Society Board of Governors (2021-present), in IEEE Romania Section the Educational activities Chair (2019-present) and in EUA Digital Transformation Steering Committee. She also acts in the Board of Romanian NGOs (Pentru Voi Foundation), in Timisoara 2023 European Capital of Culture Task Force and in other voluntary organisations (Rotary International).

She is passionate about the ubiquitous access to technologies and how they can be used to improve people’s life, she actively supports the use of OERs, MOOCs and the open education principles, developing UniCampus.eu for training for digital skills, but also the local start-up movement, women in tech, and the digital culture. She initiated several projects for transforming communities, is invited as speaker at conferences and in the last 25 years involved in the digital education community movement in Romania, recently through the Together Online webinars and the digital culture and heritage with Spotlight Heritage Timișoara.

Biography

Rosa Maria de Castro Fernandes Vasconcelos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Textile Engineering since 2005. Degree in Textile Engineering by the
University of Minho (1984). Professor at the University of Minho since 1984. PhD in Engineering –Technology and Textile Chemistry by the University of Minho in 1993.
Receive the Rieter Award, 1993. Responsible for several curricular units in the integrated study cycles in Textile Engineering and Engineering and Industrial Management, in the 1st cycle course of Design and Fashion Marketing, in the 2nd cycle courses of Fashion Design and Communication, Textile Chemistry, Advanced Textiles and Design and Marketing and also in the PhD of Textile Engineering and in the PhD of Fashion Design. Integrated researcher at 2C2T Research Centre (UM), being responsible for the supervision of several postgraduate students and the coordination of several R&D projects, mainly in the Engineering Education as well as Textile Technology. As main author or co-author presented many dozens of scientific journal papers and communications in international conferences.

2023-2024 Vice President for Membership and Geographic Activities Position Statement:

The efforts of my academic career are heavily focused on both the research and implementation aspects of engineering education. I aim to understand how engineering students at all levels can best be prepared for dynamic and fulfilling careers. I hope to serve as VP MGA because the Society is in a position to impact how engineering education evolves to meet ever-changing workforce needs and student populations. I am passionate about elevating the importance of engineering education research and of documenting and sharing best practices. I aim to help create mechanisms for sharing knowledge across institutions, particularly as that
knowledge relates to broadening the diversity of engineering graduates and serving students who arrive in engineering programs via non-traditional pathways. In
addition, I aim to help build connections between education researchers, educators, and practitioners such that advances in electrical engineering education can be both transformative and practically applicable. The Society and IEEE during these two last years faced some significant challenges due to the pandemic situation.
Diversifying its membership, exploring new ways of working and ensuring that we collaborate with other educational areas of IEEE such as the Educational Activities Board will be crucial to its future success With the experience I acquired during these years, I believe I am in a position to give a positive contribution to the Education Society, specifically in the field of Engineering Education whose challenges are enormous in today's world.
