We encourage authors to consider the FIE 2026 theme for submissions. The conference features peer-reviewed papers (Work-in-progress (WIP) and Full papers), special sessions, pre-conference workshops, and panels across all engineering and computing education disciplines. Authors are invited to submit Extended Structured Abstracts for the Full and WIP tracks, and Proposals for Alternative Session tracks (workshops, panels, special sessions). The main tracks (along with some examples) as well as submission instructions for the FIE 2026 conference are listed on the conference website.

FIE welcomes Full Papers up to nine-pages and Work-in-Progress Papers up to five-pages. The work-in-progress and full papers can be categorized into the following categories:

  1. Innovative practice

  2. Research to practice

  3. Research Work-in-progress papers are typically in frontier areas where it is understood the work is in an early or intermediate stage and authors are seeking feedback from the community.

Further, FIE welcomes proposals for panels, pre-conference workshops, and special sessions in order to disseminate scholarly efforts in non-traditional ways.

Abstract submission deadline: 26 January 2026.

FIE 2026 is scheduled as an in-person meeting on October 11-14, 2026. For each accepted paper, one author must register and participate in the conference.
