The IEEE Education Society has re-opened the Call for Treasurer Nominations for the 2025-2026 term and is seeking eligible candidates.

Note: The IEEE Education Society Board of Governors, following presentations of candidates for the position of Society Treasurer at the Meeting in Washington DC on October 15, 2024, conducted interviews with them. After assessing the interviews the Board of Governors has concluded that no candidate fully demonstrated the required qualifications for the position. Consequently the slate has been withdrawn and a further call for nominations for the position will occur.

The deadline for nomination submission is 14 November 2024.

Please note, candidates eligibility criteria include:

  • Candidate(s) must be an active IEEE Education Society member.
  • Candidate(s) must have served the Society as Finance Chair for at least two years, or served in a similar capacity within the IEEE organization for the same time, in order to be able to understand the complexities of IEEE finances.

The BoG will elect Treasurer during the November month during and Executive session specific to the election of Treasurer. Treasurer candidates are required to be present at the election, either in person or virtually.

All candidates must abide by IEEE guidelines regarding Elections and Electioneering (seen here).

Important Note: There are two Board of Governors meetings per year at either EDUNINE, EDUCON, DEMOcon, FIE and/or TALE. Officers are expected to attend a minimum of one meeting in-person every year of their term. Remote attendance is available as an option for both meetings. The Education Society does not reimburse the total costs of travel/hotel/registration for attending the meetings in person. However, a yearly travel allowance will be provided to cover a portion of the costs (amount to be determined). BoG members must fund any remaining travel costs from their employer or personal budgets.
