Educating for the AI Revolution: A Human-Centered Approach Based on Wisdom and Multiplexity
Presentation Menu
Abstract: In today’s complex and rapidly evolving world, characterized by volatility and uncertainty, education must emphasize holistic thinking and practical wisdom to prepare learners for the AI revolution. This talk advocates a human-centered educational approach grounded in multiplexity—embracing multiple perspectives and ways of knowing—to tackle multifaceted societal challenges. Narrow disciplinary education is insufficient to address wicked problems effectively. As generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and GPT-4 reshape learning, wisdom is essential for navigating abundant models and knowledge, enabling sound judgment and ethical decision-making. This presentation discusses how higher education can adapt to AI advancements while addressing inherent limitations of Large Language Models—including bias, hallucination, and misinformation—and underscores the need for inclusive, socially responsible, and open educational frameworks that enhance human capabilities and social welfare.
