Now Accepting Applications: IEEE Education Society Student Travel Award

The IEEE Education Society is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the IEEE EdSoc Student Travel Award, designed to to assist IEEE Student Members at IEEE EdSoc financially sponsored conferences (EDUCON, DEMOCon, TALE, FIE, EDUNINE), on a competitive basis.

Important dates

The deadline for award submission will be decided for each conference.

  • Application Deadline DEMOcon 2025: 7 September 2025

  • Application Deadline FIE 2025: 14 September 2025

Application eligibility
  • The student applicant must be a student member of the IEEE, extra points are given to members of Education Society.

  • The student applicant must be an author, co-author of an accepted paper in the respective IEEE EdSoc conference and present it at the conference in person. 

  • The student applicant must be a student registered toward a Bachelor’s, Masters’, or PhD degree in a college or university when submitting their applications. Proof of this is required during the online registration.

  • During the expense reimbursement stage, the student applicant must show proof of having registered to attend the conference and of the travel costs.

  • A student who is awarded a student grant must attend and present the paper at the conference. Payment will only be made to grant recipients who submit the expense report (with receipts) within 45 days after the conference. More details will be provided to the students who are selected to receive a EdSoc Student Travel Award.

  • We encourage participation from underrepresented groups and diverse institutions across all geographical regions. Women, minorities, beginning graduate students, and first-time conference attendees, are especially encouraged to apply.
