The 2025 IEEE Education Society Awards were presented at the Frontiers in Education Conference in Nashville, TN, USA on Wednesday 5 November 2025.

The 2025 award recipients include:

Best Doctoral Dissertation Award in the Field of Engineering Education
Rubén Lijó Sánchez
For implications of using Dissemination Videos as a Didactic Resource in STEM Education.

Chapter Achievement Award
Spain Section Chapter
For the outstanding dedication to educational excellence, technical activities, and community building within IEEE and Education Society, significantly impacting both members and the broader society.

Distinguished Chapter Leadership Award
Pedro Jose Muñoz Merino
For outstanding sustained effort in enhancing engineering education by developing and involving the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Education Society.

Distinguished Member Award
Hamadou Saliah-Hassane
For distinguished long-term leadership, outstanding contributions and service to IEEE Education Society, especially with respect to its Standards development involving industry stakeholders and international graduate students.

IEEE Bhagawandas and Rajani Lathi Award for Excellence in Engineering Textbooks
Brock LaMeres
For authoring an outstanding textbook that integrates theory and practice in embedded systems education.

IEEE Edwin C. Jones, Jr. Meritorious Service Award
R. Venkata Siva Reddy
For managing, organizing and supporting educational committees inside the IEEE Education Society in Bangalore and India.

IEEE Student Leadership Award
Kumaran Gandhi
For exemplary and transformative leadership in advancing STEM education through innovative experiential learning programs, strategic IEEE student branch development, and unwavering commitment to empowering diverse student communities through the IEEE Education Society.

IEEE William E. Sayle II Award for Achievement in Education
Johann Marquez-Barja
For contributions to engineering education in remote laboratories, and programmable experimentation platforms for communications networks.

Mac Van Valkenburg Early Career Teaching Award
Jeremy Riel
For creating innovative undergraduate learning experiences about technology for future teachers and non-technical majors to actively engage with computing in their careers.
