Ana Maria Madureira

Biography

Ana Madureira was born in Mozambique in 1969. She received the B.S. in Computer Science Engineering, M.S. degree in Electrical and Computers Engineering, and Ph.D. in Production and Systems degrees in 1993, 1996, and 2003, respectively. She is Coordinator Professor with Habilitation in Informatics Engineering Department at the Institute of Engineering (ISEP/P.PORTO), and has a significant experience in Computer Science undergraduate/ graduate courses and in master and PhD thesis supervision. She has been involved in more than 25 R&D projects from which she coordinated 3 national and 1 Horizon funding in the area of Artificial Intelligence. She has published 7 books, 1 patent and over 150 papers in scientific conference proceedings, journals and books.


The main research interests are related to the application of Optimization and Artificial Intelligence Techniques to the design of approaches based on Nature Inspired Computation for scheduling, including, MAS, Autonomic Computing, Machine Learning techniques, User modelling, Decision-Support Systems, Bioinformatics, Big Data, Data Science/Data Engineering, and Research on Engineering Education.

Preeti Bajaj

Biography

Having 32 years of rich administrative, academic and research experience, Dr. Preeti Bajaj is Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering with MBA. She is Vice Chancellor of Lovely Professional University, Punjab India – one of the largest and premier University in India. In the past, she has executed many leaderships roles Vice Chancellor Galgotias University, GH Raisoni Nagpur, General Council of National Board of Accreditations, New Delhi- only engineering accreditation agency in India for program accreditations, BoG Vocational Board of Maharashtra and many others.


Having expertise in developing SOP, processes, education administration, developing and instituting policies and processes and Awards, appraisal, Outcome Based education and Accreditations.


She is at present representative of Institutional Members of Council of Management India, Federation of Indian Chamber of commerce and Industries FICCI higher Education Committee, Confederation of Indian Industries CII Higher Education Committee and others.


13 have completed Ph.D. under her supervision. She has co-authored four book chapters, 150 plus publications and co-inventor for 8 patents. She is recipient of Bhaskar Women award, an Special jury award for FICCI Road Safety awards and featured in top influential 100 'phenomenal She'. She is a tech lady, putting all her energy to nurture systems and processes for Research, innovations and entrepreneurship and which sets the roadmap for the ranking and accreditations.

Karen Panetta

Biography

Karen Panetta received the B.S. degree in computer engineering from Boston University, Boston, MA, USA, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Northeastern University, Boston. She is currently the Dean of graduate engineering education and a Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tufts University, Medford, MA, USA. She also holds secondary appointments in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. She is the Director of the Panetta Vision and Sensing System Laboratory. Her research interests include developing efficient algorithms for Artificial Intelligence, simulation, modeling, signal, and image processing for biomedical and security applications. She was a recipient of the 2012 IEEE Ethical Practices Award and the Harriet B. Rigas Award for Outstanding Educator. In 2011, she was awarded the Presidential Award for Engineering and Science Education and Mentoring by U.S. President Obama. Karen was the 2019 President of the IEEE-HKN (Eta Kappa Nu) honor society. She is the Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning IEEE Women in Engineering Magazine. Karen is the CEO and Co-founder of Tessera Intelligence Inc., Co-founder of Sea Deep Inc. She is a Fellow of NAI, IEEE, AAIA, NASA JOVE, AAAS and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.

Huihui Wang

Biography

Dr. Huihui Wang is a Program Director of the National Science Foundation (NSF). She rotates with the NSF from St. Bonaventure University (SBU). Before SBU, she was the Founding Department Chair of Engineering at Jacksonville University (JU). She received her Ph.D. from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Virginia. Her current research interests focus on 1) engineering and computing education research, 2) Cyber-Physical Systems/Internet of Things. She has published over 100 peer reviewed journal and conference papers and published four patents. Dr. Wang is a member of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). She is the Immediate Past Chair of the ASEE Electrical and Computer Engineering Division after serving at various officer positions of the division and Immediate Past Chair of IEEE Educational Activities Board Faculty Resources Committee. She was the Founding Faculty Advisor of ACM-W, SBU chapter and faculty advisor of the National Society of Professional Engineers JU chapter. She also served as the Treasurer of the Engineering Education Practice Section of Florida Engineering Society (FES) and the Executive Education Committee Member of FES Northeast Florida Chapter. Dr. Wang is a program evaluator (PEV) under both Engineering Accreditation Commission and Computing Accreditation Commission of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.
