IEEE Education Society Call for New Initiatives 2023

The IEEE Education Society has opened its 2023 Call for New Initiatives.

The IEEE Education Society is opening the call for 2023 new initiatives proposals. Education Society members are eligible and encouraged to submit proposals. These proposals will be considered for funding under IEEE spending rules. We welcome all initiatives that align with the Society's strategic goals and will benefit the Society's activity areas and/or members.

We anticipate two submission cycles this year. The first submission deadline will be 1 May 2023 (11:59 PM AoE). All projects submitted in 2023 have to be completed in 2023.

The process and timeline for submissions are as follows:

  1. Complete the 2023 Call for Initiatives form by the deadline. *Please note - only complete and on-time submissions will be considered.
  2. All submissions will be reviewed by the IEEE Education Society Finance Committee and the IEEE Education Society Executive Committee. The Education Society Board of Governors may make final decisions.
  3. All approved submissions will then be submitted to IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB) for final approval. Submitters will be notified of funding decisions within 60 days of the deadline, with funding contingent on final approval by IEEE TAB.
  4. Submitters will be notified of the availability of funds after the IEEE Education Society receives approval from IEEE TAB.
  5. Reporting: Within 30 days of project completion, the new initiative leader(s) shall submit a final report to the Education Society Board of Governors. The report should minimally include a summary of major activities, an assessment of project outcomes, including benefits to the Education Society, and any future directions for the project.
