Announcement | Tue, Aug 6th, 2024 facebook twitter linkedin Email Extended Nomination Deadline: 1 September 2024 Dear Members of the IEEE Education Society, The IEEE Education Society welcomes nominations and self-nominations for the following leadership positions: One President-Elect serving a two-year term beginning 1 January 2025 and ending 31 December 2026. The President-Elect shall assume the Presidency for a two-year term at the conclusion of his/her term as President-Elect. One Treasurer serving a two-year term beginning 1 January 2025 and ending 31 December 2026. A maximum of three consecutive two-year terms is allowed. One Vice President for Member and Geographic Activities serving a two-year term beginning 1 January 2025 and ending 31 December 2026. A maximum of three consecutive two-year terms is allowed. One Vice President for Educational Activities and Awards serving a two-year term beginning 1 January 2025 and ending 31 December 2026. A maximum of three consecutive two-year terms is allowed. Please submit questions about nominations to Edmundo Tovar, Nominating Committee Chair, using the IEEE Education Society general email address (admin@ieee-edusociety.org). Nominators should complete the Officer Nomination Form on the IEEE Education Society Website in order to be considered for the slate. If you are nominating someone else for a position, you must first confirm their desire and availability to serve; only if they accept this nomination should you submit the form to the committee. This form will assist the committee in their decision regarding the final slate of candidates. The Board of Governors will elect Society Officers during the October 2024 Board of Governors Meeting. Officer candidates are required to be present at the election, either in person or virtually. All candidates must abide by IEEE guidelines regarding Elections and Electioneering (seen here). Important Note: There are two Board of Governors meetings per year at either EDUNINE, EDUCON, DEMOcon, FIE and/or TALE. Officers are expected to attend a minimum of one meeting in-person every year of their term. Remote attendance is available as an option for both meetings. The Education Society does not reimburse the total costs of travel/hotel/registration for attending the meetings in person. However, a yearly travel allowance will be provided to cover a portion of the costs (amount to be determined). BoG members must fund any remaining travel costs from their employer or personal budgets.
